How is the younger generation meant to stay positive
When any hope of a good future has long been deposited?
With so little power we cannot fight the recession
we only suffer in silence with long nights of depression
to channel our despair we learn not to fight fair
but a criminal record means were stuck in this nightmare
with no means of escape and no motive to achieve
were stuck in a cycle with no reason to believe
any story's we hear of people making it big here
'cos the only success we know of is the source of a big fear
if you step out of line its only a matter of time
you'll be hunted down and left in tatters as a sign
just to heighten the fear there's no fighting out here
there's only beatings and killings with a dominant seer
life lessons are learnt not by teachers in a school
but the rules of the street that teaches us all.

Another day gone an opportunity wasted
to try and end the problems our community faces
on a day to day basis murder, assault and rape cases
some are still discriminated because of their races
is it because the power is in the wrong hands?
or because those who do have it just don't give a damn?
and the working class man just don't stand a chance
when every single day is the same song and dance
of trying to make a living and find ways to cope
and we look up to our elders for them fine rays of hope
but what generation will see the changes
maybe a better form of freedom and a boost in paychecks
the economy is shite so where does that leave our lives
it leaves us in a place where corruption is rife
and the only way out is to fight for what you believe
and aim all your aggression at the ones who deceive
